One Quick Dram: SMWS 93.43 Glen Scotia 11 Years Old Whisky Tasting Notes

Another beauty in our cask strength event, this Glen Scotia  single barrel from the Scotch Malt Whisky Society was brought by Shai Gilboa to the Malt Mongers’ meeting in Tel Aviv. This is a very interesting expression as it seems to have one leg on land and the other in the ocean, with the addition of water making the difference between the two.

This is a fun dram you could really take your time with….

Scotch Malt Whisky Society Cask 93.43 “Two Faced Duality” 11 Year Glen Scotia (1/297) (58.4% ABV, NCF, NC)

Color: Gold, legs are slow and well spaced.

Nose: Very light peat, honey, pepper, crumb coffee cake, tobacco, sandlewood, lemon and brine. The addition of water takes us right to the Campbeltown waterfront with cool ocean brine.

Palate: Sweet peat, sweet pipe tobacco and nectarine. Water brings out a cleaner peat and salt.

Linger: Medium-long with sandlewood, cocoa and spices lingering.
